Blue Cup
and offering readings again
Shortly after the last eclipse, I was driving through Santa Fe when I passed by a pottery shop where I knew I needed to stop.
I’d seen her stuff online — a vibrant blue shade that for the first time ever, inspired in me a need to spend $58 on a cup. (For perspective: the other two mugs I own I bought for $1 each at Habitat for Humanity.)
I grabbed two, and a block of Maison de Marseille soap, which I’d come across in a book series I’d read a few months back.
She told me that the yeast-like film on the soap was actually salt, developed from the salty air of the seaside town where it was traditionally made in the South of France. She liked the soap because it reminded her of a block of clay. I found it fascinating that she felt the need to sell soap in a store with only about five items for sale. Beyond it being a purely aesthetic choice, it spoke to the depth of her love for her craft.
She asked me what I did here in Santa Fe
I said I do human design readings
She paused a moment, a little taken aback. She’d been talking to a friend about how she needs “a check in,” as these last few weeks had been a doozy. I told her it could’ve been the eclipse
She said yeah, but I know human design isn’t just astrology. She asks a question, something about whether human design IS describing our astrology, but which I in all honesty no longer can recall because as soon as she asked it I began to get excited, how she knew so little about something and yet already seemed to have a deep understanding.
It showed me something about her, that her instinct was to embrace rather than to immediately push away. It said to me that someone is on their path, which is why they can believe and recognise that someone else is as well.
I stepped on my excitable soapbox, explaining that astrology describes what we call your personality, who you are when you’re born into the world of the five senses; or most commonly referred to as the ego.
But human design incorporates another set of information, which we call the unconscious (— and which is the only part of this information that really intrigues me.) It is the imprint of your body when it’s fully formed inside the womb, and which occurs 88 days before you’re born.
She stared at me kind of blankly… I got a little carried away 😃
She asked me how much I charge, and I said I’m happy to do a sliding scale, $150-$250.
I noticed her incredible outdoor patio: a large, wooden table surrounded by adobe walls on three sides, where you enter through wooden and glass sliding doors, from the room where we stood, as she cut and wrapped my items in thick, brown paper.
The patio is very underused she says, and invites me to use it anytime I’d like for readings, even if we commit to something like one day a week.
I don’t think I can afford a reading right now, she tells me.
I say, pay me when you can.
I tell her that when I first got a reading, I didn’t have $200 in my bank account in order to pay my teacher. He told me to pay him when I can, and I finally did, two weeks later.
“I knew you were a good one,” he said. And that was it, completely changed my life.
It was the first time I’d ever offered this to someone. Yes, I’ve given free readings before, but they never felt right—it’s only ever been a monetary exchange that has felt like the appropriate balance.
But it’s the first time I’ve felt — heck, even thought about — from the depths of my heart, to pass on what was given to me, in the exact manner it was.
Aloha John 🌺 and thanks.

I’m offering readings again ~~
And in honor of the holidays and as I ease back into them, I’m excited to offer a special discount for the first time ever!
I know the endless Black Friday Sales can be overwhelming (I’m even considering isolating myself in a cabin next holiday season), but truthfully, they’ve been great. So, I’d like to pass that on:
Normally, I charge $250 for a reading, but for now I’m offering a 25% discount. I also added the option to purchase a gift certificate for one, and where the discount still applies.
Use code 25%OFF for, you guessed it, 25% off lol.
If you’re interested in long-term guidance, please email me directly—it's not available for booking on my website. Discount will apply.
Sending my love !
